Billy Calderwood - Executive Director

Billy Calderwood is the Founder and Executive Director of Kid’s Scripture Songs. He is a life-long musician with experience in acting, musical theatre and children’s theatre production. Along with his siblings, he grew up memorizing entire chapters of the Bible set to music. This early foundation led eventually to a career in numerous ministry roles including work with children and youth, church planting and pastoring several churches. Billy has also served in executive roles in denominational leadership championing the recruitment, development, sending, and support of pastors, leaders, chaplains and missionaries into a wide array of assignments.  In 2025, Billy transitioned out of denominational leadership to focus full time on Kid’s Scripture Songs.  Billy has a bachelor’s degree from Azusa Pacific University and master’s degree from Life Pacific College and is working toward a PhD at Fuller Theological Seminary. He is married to Kristin, a pastor, educator and theatre veteran and they have have three amazing kids. 

Tony Bancroft - Creative Advisor

With over 30 years in the animation industry, Tony Bancroft has been creatively involved in almost every position making an animated film, video, commercial, or short film. His animation and directing skills have been sharpened and honed while working at Walt Disney Feature Animation, Sony Pictures, his own animation company, Toonacious Family Entertainment, and many more.  Tony helped create and animate Pumbaa, the lovable warthog in The Lion King; 
Kronk, the dim-witted sidekick in The Emperor’s New Groove; Cogsworth the nervous clock from Beauty and the Beast; and Iago the pestering parrot in Aladdin.  Bancroft’s most notable accomplishments include being the co-director of Walt Disney’s animated film, Mulan, and animation supervisor of Sony’s Stuart Little 2. In an effort to prepare and enrich the next generation of animators and storytellers, Bancroft joined Azusa Pacific University as the head of the school's new Animation and Visual Effects degree program.  Along with his brother Tom, Tony hosts the The Bancroft Brothers Animation Podcast to talk about the past, present, and future of animation. 

Dan Garza - Creative team

Dan Ramon Garza is an animator and puppeteer who has performed in multiple Jim Henson Company productions.  In 2022, he took over the roles of Junior Gorg and Philo in “Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock” which won two Children's & Family Emmys in 2025.  Additional characters Garza performed for the show include Kyle Craggle and the Whistlebug.  Garza's previous puppetry credits have included “Splash and Bubbles” (performing Wave, Charlie, Scoot, Archie, Hamilton the Hammerhead, among others) and the Showtime series Kidding alongside Jim Carey, (playing Ennui Le Triste).

 

Garza has also worked as a production assistant in the animation industry, including for “Fanboy & Chum Chum” and “The Penguins of Madagascar.” From 2010 to 2016, he worked at the Walt Disney Company with Disney Interactive and the Walt Disney Internet Group.  

Catherine Taber - Creative Team

Catherine Taber is a talented actress and voice actress.  She is the voice of Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated film and television series that aired on Cartoon Network from 2008 to 2014. She also voiced Amidala in the related Star Wars video games, as well as the character Vette in Star Wars: The Old Republic. She voiced Princess Leia in the Star Wars: Force Unleashed video games.

Outside of science fiction films and video games, she voiced Ginger the Pig in A Pig's Tail, an animated 2012 short film made by Aardman Animations for The Humane Society.In 2016, Taber provided voice work on Nickelodeon's The Loud House, where she voices  characters Lori Loud, Katherine Mulligan, and Girl Jordan. Taber also voiced female Jesse in both seasons of the video game Minecraft: Story Mode (2015–17), which was first released by Telltale Games on October 12, 2015.

Larry Smith comes from a family of animators. Mr. Bill Hanna, of Hanna-Barbera, and Larry’s father, Jerry Smith, were good friends and colleagues. Mr. Hanna asked Larry’s father to establish animation studios overseas to reduce his costs, starting with Australia. At the age of 17, Larry joined him in Taiwan, teaching animation production and had the unique opportunity to learn all aspects of the animation process from the “old-timers” who came over to teach other areas of production.  Larry has been a professional animator for over four decades.  His credits include Space Jam and nearly three decades of work on The Simpsons, among many others.  Myoung Smith while trained as an artist quickly moved up to General Manager of a studio with over 200 artists. She was in charge of the quality of all the Warner Bros. theatrical productions including “The Iron Giant.” Myoung is currently at Disney TV where she works with the Directors and Storyboard artists to improve the quality of their productions. Larry and Myong have been married 42 years, have two children and 4 grandchildren. Together, they spent over 13 years working in Asia establishing animation studios in Taiwan, South Korea, China and The Philippines. Over 20,000 people are producing American animation in these countries due to the efforts of the Smith family.

Tammy Dunahoo - Spiritual Formation Advisor

Tammy Dunahoo (DLd) serves as Executive Dean of Portland Seminary at George Fox University. Tammy’s research interests and expertise are in organizational culture and leadership in a disrupted world; deliberately developmental organizations; missional movement planting, missional movement planting, and intergenerational disciple-making.  Her leadership and mentoring have helped shape the planning, execution and intergenerational spiritual formation focus of the Kid's Scripture Song strategy, especially future curriculum development. Dr. Dunahoo has 40 years of church and denominational leadership experience.  Tammy and her husband Gary have been married for more than 40 years and have two children and four grandchildren.
