While memorizing text may seem difficult, most adults have memorized THOUSANDS of pages of text unconsciously in the form of song lyrics, commercial jingles, Christmas carols, musicals, movies, and catchy pop songs we may have only heard a few times. For better or worse, these lyrics often run on repeat in our minds almost unconsciously. Educators and marketing experts have long used this to their advantage. Many adults can sing “School House Rock” songs or television commercial jingles decades later due to the effectiveness of this strategy. We love this scene in “Inside Out” that shows how we all experience this!
